MIND, BODY, SOUL HALF DOZEN
Hi folks!!
New Half Dozen Challenge starting THIS WEEK: Wednesday 1st February.
I wanted to shake things up this time round – so had a think and went through previous challenges for some ideas and the main pattern that emerged was that just about all of the previous participants set themselves goals that could generally be split into 3 categories – Mind, Body or Soul.
So this round is going to be a bit different….. the “Mind, Body, Soul Half Dozen!”
The Half Dozen in this case relates to the time frame :)
At the start of each challenge week (Wednesday) I’m going to set 4 tasks (posted on the Half Dozen Challenge facebook wall - you may need to "LIKE" the page if you haven't already).
Each one relates to Mind, Body, Soul and the bonus round of FUN! – and the participants are expected to have a crack at the tasks set.
As an example - the first week will go something like;
MIND: Read something!
Start that novel you’ve had collecting dust on the shelf since Christmas, research a topic of personal interest – read something you wouldn’t normally.
BODY: Get moving x 3
Make a concerted effort to do some form of exercise 3 times this week – go for a walk / ride / swim
SOUL: Relaxation
Complete the attached breathing exercise – aim for a few minutes each day.
FUN: Take a photo of something that makes you smile, post it on the Facebook page wall
I will be encouraging a lot more interactivity this time by asking folks to post things on the group wall and getting a bit more involved with the other challengers.
The task will gradually get harder as we go – but nothing too intimidating. As an example, the Body challenges will get tougher as you will be getting fitter, but will always be realistic.
There are no checklists, there are no expectations.
Just join in if you’re interested and give it your best. This is still a personal growth challenge and it is up to YOU to make the most of it.
As this is an approach I haven’t taken before, I would be interested in your constructive feedback either before we begin or as we go along.
Please 'like' the facebook page to keep up to date with what's happening

Looking forward to giving this a shot – and hey, if it doesn’t really work there will always be another one…. LOL

Week Three Down!
Another fanstatic effort this week from everyone - well done!!!
Can you believe our next check in has us half way through the challenge... time flies when you're having fun hehe
Staying continually motivated, focused and inspired is not always easy.
One minute you might be feeling positive, unstoppable and determined to get 100% of your weekly goals ticked off... but then maybe something happens to dampen your enthusiasm or you just get busy with life stuff. Whatever the setback, getting back on track can be a challenge.
Try to keep in mind team that there are no winners or losers in this challenge. This has been created as a tool to help you focus on the areas of your life that you have identified as something to give more attention to.
This is YOUR challenge and regardless of which direction your graph line goes, the fact you are here and concsiouly trying to focus on these areas - well stop and give yourself a pat on the back RIGHT NOW for making the effort in striving to achieve personal growth.
You should all be proud of your efforts to date so be sure to every now and then and sit back, smile a big cheesy smile and acknowledge your achievements.

Till next week lovelies!

Week Two - Well done to you!
Hi Challengers!
Well done for making it through week two... so far no casualties, everyone still seems to be playing!
**SPECIAL MENTIONS**
This is the section to recognise people's achievements for a goal or challenge that isn't a weekly based goal.
This week's team members who have knocked off a couple of challenges....
GAYNOR - big ups for finishing the scarf for your friend :)
HEATHER - well done for applying your inner book worm - 1st book down :)
And a Gold Star of recognition to Jo M for beating everyone with submitting your checksheets - both weeks Jo has had her sheet in before I've sent out the first reminder hehe
The past week or so I've been really stressed out with work pressures (all back to normal now - phew!) but I was reminded of a post on another blog that had a couple of simple suggestions for quick pick me ups when you need to give your brain a break - so I thought I'd just share the following with you as a reminder to be kind to ourselves and to not let pressure get the better of you;
10 quick happy tips
1. Look up to the sky – it lifts your mood
2. Make a list of things you are grateful for
3. Swap one cup of coffee or glass of wine for a cup of green tea
4. De-clutter your desk or a drawer
5. Spend 10 minutes focusing on your breathing
6. Be aware of your internal voice – banish negative thoughts
7. Drink lots of water
8. Give yourself a reward
9. Spend 10 minutes stretching
10.Sign up for a new activity
That's all from me this week, look forward to our next check in & have a brilliant weekend everyone!!

Week One - Done!
Hi Challengers!!
You survived the first week!! WELL DONE EVERYONE!!! Each of you have achieved fantastic results too!!! GO TEAM!!!!
You will find your results plotted on a graph under the tab "Weekly Updates."
You will be able to click on the graph and it will pop up into a more readable size. Let me know if you have any problems with this as I want you all to be able to clearly see how well you're tracking.
The first week is about getting used to the challenge and giving you an idea of what you need to do or how much effort you need to put in going forward. It’s a starting point that will help you get a feel for how easy or difficult your challenges really are and to give you a benchmark to improve on in the coming weeks.
If you don't feel that you achieved the results you had hoped for or are feeling a bit disappointed in your efforts – you should wipe those negative thoughts from your head right this second and be extremely proud of yourself for taking the first steps towards creating some great lifestyle habits.
One important thing to note about the progress graph is that it is based on your WEEKLY GOALS ONLY. There are a few of you who have something that they wish to achieve over the course of the challenge (eg. 4 x date nights within the 8 weeks / finishing a book within the timeframe / going out with friends once a month). You will get a special mention in the weekly spiel - and of course a glowing sense of pride - when you achieve these goals.
Bring on WEEK TWO!!
